LanguageTest ("the App") is a vocabulary-learning application developed by
Zutavern ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information
the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that
information.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
- Google account email address (provided via Google Sign-In)
- A username you choose when you create your account
- Firebase User ID (a unique identifier assigned by Google Firebase Authentication)
Learning data
- Dictionaries you create or import (word pairs, categories, hints, language names)
- Test and practice statistics (correct/incorrect counts, attempt dates, streaks)
- Test settings and preferences
Shared Library data
- If you choose to share a dictionary, the dictionary contents along with your
username are published to the Shared Library so other users can download it.
- Ratings you give to shared dictionaries.
Feedback data
- If you submit feedback through the App, your email address, username, and
the message you write are sent via the EmailJS service.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect:
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or hardware information
- Precise or approximate location data
- Contacts, photos, or other media
- Payment or financial information
- Analytics, telemetry, or usage-tracking data
- Crash reports
4. How We Use Your Information
- Authentication: Your Google email and Firebase User ID are used
solely to sign you in and keep your data separate from other users.
- Cloud sync: Your dictionaries, statistics, and practice dates
are synced to Google Firebase Firestore so you can access them across
devices.
- Shared Library: When you voluntarily share a dictionary, it is
stored in Firestore and made available to other authenticated users.
- Feedback delivery: When you send feedback, your message and
email are transmitted through EmailJS so we can read and respond to it.
5. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services:
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored locally on your device and in Google Cloud Firestore
servers. Firestore data is protected by Firebase Security Rules that restrict
access to your own account.
- Communication between the App and Firebase is encrypted in transit using TLS.
- We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of electronic
storage is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account.
- Local data is cleared from the device when you sign out.
- To request deletion of your cloud-stored data, contact us at the email
address below. We will delete your Firestore records within 30 days of
a verified request.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child
under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will
promptly delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time by signing out and contacting us for data removal
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will
be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the
App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
